About This Service

The Dashboard is the Most
Sun-Exposed Interior Surface.

In Dubai's climate, the dashboard is the single most vulnerable interior surface in any vehicle. It sits directly beneath the windscreen — the largest UV-transmitting surface in the car — in full, uninterrupted exposure to sunlight for the entire duration of every parking session. While seats and door cards receive partial shade, the dashboard receives direct sun from the moment the car is parked to the moment it drives away.

The consequences over time are visible on almost every Dubai vehicle over three years old: leather that has cracked along the top of the dashboard pad, plastic trims that have developed a greasy film from off-gassing and then faded to a chalky tone, Piano Black panels that show the reflections of every scratch accumulated over years of contact with fabric and hands, and wood veneer trim that has lost its depth and lustre from UV bleaching through the clear lacquer.

At Kartal Auto, we repair every dashboard material found in luxury vehicles — leather, Nappa leather, Alcantara, standard plastic, Piano Black high-gloss lacquer, matte soft-touch, real wood veneer, carbon fibre, and metal trim. Every repair is colour-matched, texture-matched, and sheen-matched to the surrounding material. The result holds in Dubai's heat because we use materials and adhesives rated for it.

What We Do

Dashboard Repair Services
We Offer in Dubai

From a leather crack repair to a full dashboard leather restoration — every dashboard repair service available for luxury and exotic vehicles at our Dubai workshop.

1. Dashboard Leather Crack & Tear Repair

Cracks, splits, and tears in leather-covered dashboard surfaces repaired using flexible leather filler built up in layers, grain-embossed to match the surrounding leather pattern, colour-matched to the original specification, and sealed with a UV-protective topcoat. The repair flexes with the dashboard through thermal cycles and does not re-crack when the correct flexible compounds are used.

2. Dashboard Leather Colour Restoration

UV-faded, sun-bleached, or discoloured dashboard leather — particularly the top of the dashboard pad that faces directly up towards the windscreen — recoloured using a professional water-based leather dye system. The surface is degreased, prepared, and recoloured to match the original manufacturer leather code or a spectrophotometer reading of the unaffected leather zones.

3. Nappa Leather Dashboard Restoration

Specialist restoration for Nappa-covered dashboards on Rolls Royce, Bentley, and high-specification Mercedes and BMW interiors. Nappa leather dashboard surfaces require dedicated Nappa repair compounds — different from standard leather products — that preserve the characteristic softness, open-pore structure, and natural lustre of original Nappa.

4. Piano Black Scratch Removal

Light to moderate scratches on Piano Black and high-gloss lacquered trim panels machine-polished to remove the scratch network and restore the mirror-like finish. Deep scratches that have cut through the lacquer layer require a panel respray — the panel is removed, resprayed in high-gloss automotive lacquer, and machine-polished to a factory-level mirror finish. Indistinguishable from new.

5. Alcantara Dashboard Repair

Alcantara dashboard sections — instrument cluster surrounds, centre console faces, and lower dash zones on performance vehicles — repaired where pile flattening, staining, or small tears have developed. Alcantara requires fibre-specific repair and restoration techniques. Heavily worn Alcantara sections may require panel re-trimming rather than in-place repair — assessed individually before quoting.

6. Wood Veneer & Carbon Fibre Repair

Chipped, cracked, or UV-bleached wood veneer inserts restored by repairing the lacquer layer and recolouring the affected zone to blend with the surrounding panel. Carbon fibre trim scratch removal using machine polishing. Severely damaged or delaminated veneer panels re-veneered with matching wood species or replaced with an OEM specification replacement panel.

7. Screen Surround & Trim Repair

Plastic surrounds and bezels around infotainment screens, instrument clusters, and air vents scratched, cracked, or faded. Assessed for whether the damage is in a repaintable or polishable zone or requires panel replacement.

Plastic surrounds are resprayed in the correct finish — matte, satin, or gloss — using flexible interior paint that does not crack when the trim flexes.

8. Full Dashboard Restoration

A complete restoration of all dashboard surfaces — leather cleaning, crack and tear repair, colour restoration, grain embossing, plastic renovation, Piano Black polishing, wood veneer lacquer restoration, and UV-protective treatment on every surface. The most comprehensive dashboard service available — transforms a heat-degraded dashboard to a condition comparable to a new vehicle interior.

Diagnosis Guide

Dashboard Materials We Repair:
What Each Requires

Different dashboard materials require completely different repair products, techniques, and specialist knowledge. Here is a complete guide to every material we work on — and exactly what makes each one different to repair correctly.

Material

Where Found

Repair Approach

Key Requirement

Standard Leather

Dashboard top pad, instrument panel capping, door card extensions. Found in Mercedes, BMW, Range Rover, and most luxury vehicles below the ultra-luxury tier.

Flexible leather filler build-up for cracks and tears. Grain embossed to match texture. Colour matched to original code. UV-protective sealant at correct sheen level. Conditioning treatment after repair.

Correct sheen level — matte dashboard leather must receive matte sealant. Gloss sealant on a matte dashboard creates a visible reflection in the windscreen during driving.

Nappa Leather

Full dashboard panels, instrument pad, door card tops. Found in Rolls Royce, Bentley, Ferrari, and top-specification BMW and Mercedes interiors.

Dedicated Nappa leather repair compounds — softer and more flexible than standard leather fillers. Manufacturer colour code matching essential. Nappa-safe sealant preserving the natural pore structure and soft hand feel.

Standard leather repair products harden on Nappa and are immediately visible. Only Nappa-specific formulations produce an invisible repair. This is not optional on Rolls Royce or Bentley dashboards.

Piano Black Lacquer

Centre console surrounds, HVAC control frames, screen bezels, gear selector surrounds, door card inserts. Found in nearly every modern luxury vehicle as a standard or optional trim.

Light scratches: machine polishing with ultra-fine compound. Deep scratches: panel removal, respray in high-gloss automotive lacquer, machine polish to mirror finish. Panel must be removed for respray — spraying in place produces orange-peel texture.

Piano Black cannot be polished to remove deep scratches — the lacquer is too thin. Only a respray restores a deep-scratch panel. Polish can make it worse by removing more lacquer around the scratch.

Alcantara / Suede

Instrument binnacle surrounds, lower dashboard sections, steering column cowls. Found in Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche, and AMG performance specifications.

Alcantara-specific cleaning and pile restoration products. Steam cleaning for staining. Fibre-bonding repair for small tears. Panel re-trimming for heavily worn or stained sections. Never use standard leather products — they mat the Alcantara fibres permanently.

Alcantara pile direction matters — always finish with a brush stroke in the pile direction to restore consistent texture. Matted pile is irreversible without re-trimming if not treated with the correct products early.

Real Wood Veneer

Instrument panel inserts, door card inlays, centre console facings, steering column trim. Found in Rolls Royce, Bentley, Porsche, Mercedes S-Class, and BMW 7 Series as standard or optional.

UV-clouded lacquer polished and recoated for haze restoration. Chip or crack in veneer filled with matching wood filler and recoloured. Severely damaged or delaminated veneer panels re-veneered with matching species or replaced with OEM equivalent panel.

Each wood species has a distinct grain and colour profile that must be matched when repairing. Walnut, maple, sycamore, and burr wood each require different colour compounds for an invisible repair in the wood grain.

Matte Soft-Touch Plastic

Upper dashboard sections, air vent surrounds, switch panel faces, column cowls. The most common plastic finish in modern luxury vehicles — a rubberised matte coating over hard plastic substrate.

Shiny patches from sunscreen or polish product: specialist soft-touch restoration treatment. Faded or degraded coating: flexible matte interior paint resprayed onto the panel surface. Cracks in the plastic substrate: filled and primed before repainting.

Standard interior dressing products create a glossy patch on matte soft-touch panels that cannot be removed without repainting. The repair must use zero-sheen flexible paint — gloss interior paint on a matte panel creates a worse result than the original damage.

HOW IT WORKS

Our Dashboard Repair Process

A dashboard repair begins with material identification and colour matching — before any product touches the surface. Getting these two elements right is what separates a repair that blends in from one that stands out.

Why Choose Us?

Why Dubai's Car Owners Trust Us With Their Dashboard?

A dashboard repair that uses the wrong sheen level is visible the moment you sit in the car. A repair on Nappa leather using standard leather products is obvious the moment it catches the light. Matching the material correctly — not just the colour — is what we do on every job.

Nappa-Specific Compounds

Rolls Royce and Bentley dashboard leather is Nappa — and it requires completely different repair products than standard automotive leather.

Sheen Level Matched Exactly

A matte dashboard leather repair done with a satin sealant produces a visible sheen contrast under every lighting condition.

UV-Protective Topcoat

We use UV-blocking sealant compounds on every dashboard repair — because a repaired surface without UV protection will fade faster than the surrounding original surface, making the repair progressively more visible over time.

Piano Black Treated Correctly

Light scratches are polished. Deep scratches through the lacquer are resprayed — because polishing a deep scratch only makes it wider and more visible. We do not machine-polish a panel that requires a respray.

FAQ's

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about dashboard repair in Dubai. Send us photos of the damage for a free honest assessment and same-day quote.

1. How much does a car dashboard repair cost in Dubai?
A leather crack or tear repair starts from AED 300. Dashboard leather colour restoration starts from AED 500 per panel. Full dashboard leather restoration starts from AED 1,500. Nappa leather repair starts from AED 800 per panel. Piano Black polishing starts from AED 400. Piano Black respray (deep scratches) starts from AED 700. Alcantara restoration starts from AED 400. Wood veneer lacquer restoration starts from AED 600. Send us photos for a free exact quote.

2. How long does car dashboard repair take?
A single leather crack or tear repair takes 4 to 6 hours and is typically completed same day. A full dashboard leather restoration takes 1 to 2 days to allow for correct drying and cure time between stages. Piano Black polishing on two to three panels takes 2 to 4 hours. A Piano Black panel respray takes 1 day. Wood veneer lacquer restoration takes 4 to 6 hours per panel. We confirm the timeline when we assess the vehicle.

3. How can I prevent dashboard from cracking?
The most effective prevention measures are: always use a windscreen sunshade when parked — this reduces the dashboard surface temperature by 20 to 30°C compared to direct sun exposure and dramatically slows UV and heat degradation. Apply a UV-protective leather conditioner to the dashboard every 6 to 8 weeks in Dubai's climate. Avoid using any plastic product or all-purpose spray cleaner on leather surfaces — baby wipes and APC products strip the natural oils from leather faster than heat alone. We can recommend the specific products correct for your vehicle's leather type.
4. Can you repair Nappa leather dashboard on Rolls Royce?
Yes. Nappa leather dashboard restoration on Rolls Royce and Bentley is one of our most frequently requested interior services in Dubai. We use dedicated Nappa repair compounds that preserve the soft hand feel and open-pore appearance — standard leather repair products harden on Nappa and are immediately visible. The colour is matched to the manufacturer's specific leather code and tested on a non-visible area before any work begins on the main panels.

5. Can a cracked dashboard be repaired?
Yes — in most cases. Cracks in leather-covered dashboard surfaces are repaired using flexible leather filler built up in layers, grain-embossed, colour-matched, and sealed. Early-stage crack networks produce near-invisible results. Very advanced cracking where the leather has fully embrittled throughout the panel produces a functional repair that is improved over the cracked appearance, but may still be slightly visible under close inspection. Plastic dashboard cracks can also be filled and recoloured where the plastic structure remains sound.
